What Motivates You?
A little while ago, I attended a seminar. The person next to me (whom I didn’t know) leaned over and said, “I need to attend seminars like these – it gets me motivated.”
I started to think…
- …was I attending this seminar because I wanted to get motivated,
or was I attending because I wanted to learn a new sales strategy?
My conclusion was that motivation has to come from within. On a regular basis. Nobody can motivate you. You have to be the one to do it yourself!
My motivation comes from people telling me that something “can’t be done”. It comes from wanting to help mortgage women make more money by sharing marketing ideas. It comes from wanting to see the world. It comes from not wanting to be a bag lady when I’m old and gray.
It comes from many different places – but I wake up each morning ready to take on the world (after I’ve had my coffee, that is).
Attend sales events and seminars only if you want to learn a new idea. Meet the speaker. New people.
Attending seminars to get motivated is short-lived and only lasts a day or two.
So, what motivates you to get up every morning to do what you do?
